Come on
Unknown Speaker 0:11
blood flow. This is George G and the time is right. welcome today’s guest strong and powerful Allison Scammell. Allison, are you ready to do this? I’m so excited. All right, let’s go. Allison is a master certified coach. He’s an intuitive business consultant. Working to help soul guided entrepreneurs get fully booked with high value clients become the in demand expert that everybody wants to talk to. Allison, tell us a little about your personal life some more about your work and why you do what you do? Well, we were chatting a little bit before you hit record, and I grew up in a family farm fourth generation in the middle of America, in South Dakota. And from the youngest age, I think I was born with a suitcase in my hand and I moved abroad right after college, and I spent 17 years in international development and humanitarian response. And I lived in to have lived in 10 countries on four continents. I hang my hat these days in The Hague in the Netherlands,
Unknown Speaker 1:10
the International sea city of peace and justice, so it’s a good place for me to land because it’s, it’s very, it’s kind of got a wow, you know, it depends on where you are in the city, you can have the real Dutch kind of community experience, or you can have the quite international people coming from all over the world experience, depending on what you want to plug into. And so about
Unknown Speaker 1:33
seven years into the 17 year career, I was like, Oh, this isn’t how I want to give back to the world. And how I want to express myself and my gifts. And I just felt off. And it took me a long time to right size, my turn my ship in the right direction, longer than most people, I am sure. And so I landed on coaching and intuitive coaching and healing for soul guided business.
Unknown Speaker 2:02
Folks, whether they’re at the start of their business, or been at it for a while, and just basically, more spiritually minded leaders and influencers in the world. And that’s what I do now. And it it gets me super excited to get out of bed every day. I love it. So what happened on the farm is there’s somebody looking after it, Allison Yeah, you know, that’s always such a question. Right? What happened to the farm family, farmers they know, you know, because you have family farm in your line as well. My my sister and her husband now operate it. Okay, they’re, they’re the operators. Yeah. And we have a family limited partnership. So we all manage it together. So that we you know, and family, you know, these family farms, it’s kind of gets crazy. The siblings start to fight with each other. And you know, like, what do we do, and there’s a lot of money involved. So we have this super awesome system where we all get along super well. And we support my sister and her husband as they run it. So we really are a model for success to keep the family farm alive. Because it’s a tough business. Awesome. Yeah, for sure. And so thank God that there are people out there who are willing to do it, because yeah, I like to eat food, Allison.
Unknown Speaker 3:13
And family farmers, like you know, they, they tend to treat the food pretty well. So it’s nice to support those family farmers. Yeah, Amen. All right. So
Unknown Speaker 3:25
what what should we focus on today? I know, there’s a lot of people out there that, that maybe they feel like they were like in your shoes, when you’re seven years into your business just wasn’t clicking. And maybe it’s a function of they’re not their businesses and aligned or they’re in the wrong space? Or they just can’t figure out how to find the right kind of people to work with sure that you deal with all this stuff all the time. Yeah. So I have so much empathy for people starting out because I was the person who started out my business and I didn’t make any money or have any clients and I had come from a super successful career. And I was like, what I figured that out, why can’t I figure this out? And I realized that it wasn’t that I didn’t have enough marketing knowledge. It wasn’t that I didn’t, I wasn’t a sophisticated enough copywriter. It was because I was out of alignment. You know, when I first started my business, I was doing like career coaching and all this stuff that didn’t light me up. And because I was afraid, I had so much fear to say, I’m a psychic medium. I’m an energy healer. I am an intuitive business consultant, whatever words you use to describe our connection to the spiritual realm or connection to our intuition, our higher self. I was really afraid to talk about that because I thought people will think it’s weird. They’ll think I’m weird. But when I started to let go of those fears, and bring down those walls, and just really started to be me, and really started to this stuff that lit me up and
Unknown Speaker 5:00
I really started to align my business to the work I felt on a soul level I was meant to do in this world. That’s when things started to turn around. And they turn around quickly and joy like easily and really in a kind of a, I was described it, it was like an exhilarating feeling. It felt exhilarated to do the work. And the more exhilarated I felt, the more you know, the longer my waiting list got. And so that’s what I teach my clients today. And that’s, it’s a couple of things I’d love to unpack with you. The first is how to align your business to your sole mission. And I sometimes define your sole mission as your highest. Why, like, if you had to pinpoint the biggest reason why you chose this lifetime, which I believe we choose, we choose our lifetimes. Why did you come at this particular time? Why did you choose your parents? Right? Why did you come in? Where you came in? I came in on a family farm, right? Why? Why did I choose that? So so this isn’t, this isn’t random, I believe. And, and so it’s so so we come with a mission. And if our business is not compatible with that, or if they’re working at cross purposes, you will not be satisfied in your business. And you’ll you’ll likely unless you are an expert marketer by trade, you’ll likely feel that challenged, attracting the right people into your business. Well, that’s really make sense.
Unknown Speaker 6:31
Right? Like when when you lay it out like that, it’s like, of course, but when when when I’m sitting down, and I’m trying to think what is my highest? Why, what is it that really lights me up? And like, Well, maybe it’s this, but I don’t want to make a bad decision on. You know, how do I how do I sort of suss that out? It is it is like,
Unknown Speaker 6:53
it’s not an easy question to ask, like, what is my sole purpose? What is my highest? Why? Why am I here? It’s a big one, and you unpack it your whole life. And there’s a simple way to tap into what you need to know today.
Unknown Speaker 7:07
Because it’s all about the present moment, really, it’s all about this very moment, whenever you’re listening to this podcast episode, it is about this precise moment. And our sole mission does stay with us. I mean, it doesn’t dramatically change at some point, when we hit middle age or whatever. However, it peels back, like that onion, that layer, and we get we clarify it, and we clarify it and we clarify it. So what I guide people to is a couple of things. Otherwise, you get overwhelmed by the question. The first is throw the words out the window, because we’re talking about something that really goes beyond words, right. So it’s unless you’ve been at this for decades, or maybe you’re a very clever wordsmith, it’s likely that you’ll find it challenging to find the words that really describe it. So what I say to do instead is go to the feeling, sink into your body, go to like, I know that your listeners are there. And if they do this, they’ll sink in and they’ll feel something big inside, they’ll feel something important. They’ll feel something timely, and they’ll feel something that’s in service to others to the planet. So go there first and just feel into it. That’s the first thing. And if you have words to describe it, that feel right and exciting, beautiful. But if you don’t, that’s equally beautiful, you don’t really need the words to describe it when you can feel into it. First thing, second thing that can be helpful to point you in the right to leave you bread crumbs, is our pains and our struggles actually point us to our sole mission. Because ultimately, we are here to heal, we heal, heal ourselves. And we here heal others, and we heal the planet. And I don’t care what your business is, I don’t care if you design T shirts, where if you are a healer or some sort of coach, there is going to be a healing element to the work you do. Like if you’re a t shirt designer, and you write really something really beautiful and I buy your T shirt and it just makes me feel good to wear it. You’re healing me on a certain level. So there’s healers inside all of us, I believe. And our sole mission is inside that you can find it inside some of our bigger pains in life, and especially those pains that we’ve learned to overcome. And a lot of coaches out there are coaching on the things on the pain points that they’ve learned to overcome. Right. So if you kind of sink into the body, first of all you sink and you kind of feel good, what if I tried to feel my sole mission? What feeling would come up as the first question.
Unknown Speaker 9:54
The second question is, if I sink into my body and say, Well, I’ve got
Unknown Speaker 9:59
I
Unknown Speaker 10:00
I kind of sink in and think about, Gosh, what are some, some pains in my life that have been reoccurring themes? They’ve come up again and again and again? What is the nature of that pain and how have I overcome it, your sole mission is going to be there.
Unknown Speaker 10:19
And it might jump off the page for you. Or it might be like, Oh, I’m not really sure. So that just means spend a little bit more time with it. And stay with the feeling. And at a certain point, words are going to come to you from that feeling to describe the feeling. And those words are pointing you to the direction of your mission.
Unknown Speaker 10:40
To give you a quick example, to simplify this as much as I can. I have one of my reoccurring pains is that I have a great glass ceiling, I can hit above average, great. And then once I hit above average, I need to just like clunk, my head on that grab glass ceiling, just stay where I am, right? I can’t blow through the glass ceiling to get to super great or amazing or expert or genius. So that’s been a reoccurring theme in my life. And when I unpack that, and get to like, what have I overcome consistently, I’ve always overcome that pain to get to the truth, the truth, the truth, the truth about who I am, what I’m meant to do. And I know my sole mission has to do with truth. I’m here to bring truth to the planet. I’m here to bring truth to my life, to help my clients find their truth. So I know just that just that one word brings to life my mission without having 20 paragraphs to describe what my sole mission is, all I need to do is go to truth. And I tap into my mission immediately.
Unknown Speaker 11:51
I love it. Super powerful. Thank you for that.
Unknown Speaker 11:55
We, you know, I I?
Unknown Speaker 11:58
We like to categorize things and give them names. And it makes us I guess, I guess it does, it’s never helped me explain things. I’ve never liked it. So why would I think that everybody else does, even though it seems like, like lots of things want us to do that categorize things. So it makes it easy to understand, but it doesn’t really. And and yeah, I think the Allison, you’re probably in the right business, because most of us probably feel like we’re, you know, bumping up against that at some level. Yes. Oh, yeah, absolutely. And so and so to take it like well, okay, so what does that mean for my business?
Unknown Speaker 12:36
It means everything. So if truth is a big thing for me, and it’s a big thing for my life and my mission, I You better believe that my business better have that feeling of truth. Like, I better be a trustworthy person. Like, that’s the thing. I feel like my people, and again, we’ll talk about so client avatars here in a sec. You know, we’re not here to please everybody, I’m sure you’ve talked about this already. You know, we’ve got our audience, we’ve got our people, right. And so when I speak in front of my people, like my soul audience, they just trust me. They don’t second guess what I say, you know, like, where did you get that information? Allison, I never get that question. Because I am in such integrity because I’m, you know, I really make sure that I’m always giving the highest, most truthful information that comes through. So that’s like a first thing like, it just becomes part of my brand, it becomes part of who I am. I am body it. Because it’s really part of my mission. So when you when you start to feel into that mission, and maybe a word or two arrives to you just kind of notice like, How can I align my business to this? How can my business be an outer reflection of my mission or a vehicle for me to express my mission? And just small little tweaks and refines here and there? And you don’t have to reinvent your business? For sure. Just a little bit here a little bit there. Maybe you’re like, Oh, well, I feel like my sole mission has to do with so I don’t know, what’s coming. What’s an example? I always go back to truth, but maybe my sole mission is to help people heal. Okay. Maybe you feel like there’s a healer inside of you.
Unknown Speaker 14:21
Just say like, what’s one piece of content I could create for my audience today. That’s about helping people heal. You know, keep it super, super, super simple. I think sometimes we try to make these spiritual concepts so profound and so complicated, but it’s really about like the simple, simple, simple things that you can give your audience.
Unknown Speaker 14:41
And if if, like I said, if it is coming from a piece of your mission, and you’re getting it to the right people, they will gobble it up.
Unknown Speaker 14:50
I love it. I mean, I think there’s probably people who are listening who feel like they’re not doing exactly what they want to be doing. But the thought of changing gears and doing something totally different
Unknown Speaker 15:00
Yeah, is probably a non starter. But that’s not what you’re saying at all. You can say you can make tweaks here and there in the way that you’re thinking about it yourself while you’re presenting things. And that will really make a big shift.
Unknown Speaker 15:14
Yes, yes. And it’s those small tweaks over time that make the big changes. So, you know, slow and steady does really win the race, and especially when you’re trying to align your business to the truth of who you are, and what you’re really meant to do. And that’s what we’re talking about here. You know, that doesn’t happen overnight. You don’t have that kind of clarity overnight. You know, I always say in the business world, you got to skin, your knees up a little bit.
Unknown Speaker 15:41
All of us have been there, you put up the wrong thing.
Unknown Speaker 15:45
Or you put up the wrong offering, for example, it doesn’t sell. And you just have this inner knowing like I didn’t really want to put that offering out there anyway. And it stings. Right? And you, you scraped up your knee a little bit, but man the lesson, so clarifying. So what I’m talking about today really is like that. It’s the it’s about the journey, and you can get a fair amount of clarity in a short amount of time. So if you really start to think about this and spend some time with this, about the questions I posited early when you sink in the body, what do you feel when you try to feel in your soul mission and when you reflect on your pains in your life did the reoccurring pains, like what have you overcome, like, if you spend a little time with that, it doesn’t take much time for clarity to arrive. And when it does start arriving, I really invite in like being in this for the long haul.
Unknown Speaker 16:42
And knowing that if you stay with it and stay true to these questions, and continuing aligning your business to what feels exhilarating to you, and what is in service to the people you feel called to serve. It’s, it’s, yeah, you’re gonna find that clarity, clarity will come relatively quickly. And at the same time, you’ll really start to feel in that this is just really a journey. And it’s really about the journey. And I don’t think there’s any point in the journey where like, Oh, I’ve arrived, I’ve completely figured my sole mission out. Now I can write, you know, I can write it down on a nice paper, frame it and hang in my office. I don’t know that anybody will get to that point. But, you know, it’s that whole duality of things. Yes, the clarity will arrive relatively simple. And at the same time, it’s a long journey that will be with you for the rest of your life. I love it. That’s really well said, Awesome. Thank you. Thank you so much for coming on. Where can people learn more about you? How can they engage with you?
