Come on Hey, George G from lifeline, I want to talk about who you are your identity. I don’t mean it in an existential way, like, question your place in the universe, and space and time, stuff like that. But I do mean it in the sense of, you can be anything that you want to be. And what is it that has been maybe in the back of your mind, you’ve been wanting to do more of something that you want to become, or let more out that you haven’t. That’s really what I’m talking about. Maybe you grew up when when when you were growing up, you were always playing sports, and you really thought of yourself as an athlete. And as an adult, maybe that’s been less so true. Maybe you want to, again, be an athlete, maybe you want to start writing again, maybe you want to be an author, maybe you want to start a blog, maybe you want to really consider yourself to be a world traveler, or a chef, you want to really up your cooking skills, whatever it is, that’s really what I want to encourage you to take some time and think about, who am I? If anything, were possible, because it is anything were possible? What would I want to be to be more of? And to really think about that? I think we put so many things in our own way. Let’s say, there’s just too many reasons why I can’t do this, I don’t have enough time to do this. I don’t have enough money to do this. I don’t have enough attention to do this. And while those things may be true, I think that the opposite is also true. It is possible there is enough time you do you have enough attention. As long as what the thing is that you want is important enough, then you’ll figure out how to make it happen. So I mean, fundamentally, that’s really you got one crack at this, we have one time around the proverbial track one life. So what are you waiting for, it’s not going to be any easier tomorrow than it is today. So why not really figure out, this is what I want. Figure out how to make that happen, and start doing it. So I really want to encourage you to do that. So if it is you interested in become an athlete, becoming an author becoming a cook, whatever it might be, really get clear on what it is that you want. And I talk a good amount about this. But we really have a tendency to to mix things up, we say, well, once I do this, then I’ll take on that identity. Once I once once my book is available to be purchased on Amazon, well, then I’ll start calling myself an author. Once I complete my first Ironman, then I’ll be an athlete again, once I acquire all of these skills, or get some kind of a certification, that’s when that’s the time that I’m going to start really identifying as the thing that I really want to identify as. But the problem with that is, that may never happen. We may never actually get to that point. Or it may take such a long time that so much time has elapsed, and you’ve wasted it instead of becoming that thing now and really making that part of your identity. Now, it’s the whole trap of thinking, well, once I have that thing that I want, then I’ll be happy. Once I have a relationship, then I’ll be happy. Once I get that promotion, then I’ll be happy. Once I have that amount of money, then I’ll be happy. Well, that thing that just might not be it might never happen. So therefore, you’ll have spent so much time waiting to be happy. You’ll spend so much time that context of an identity of thing you want to do or think that you want to be. So why not just start doing it now? Why not? Step in, lean really hard into whatever the identity whatever your desired identity is. Just start doing it right now.

There’s no reason to not do that. What are you waiting for kind of a thing. So that’s really what I want to encourage you to do. So what is it that you want to be doing? So what does it mean to you to to be an athlete? Does it mean that you’re working out three times a week, five times a week, seven days a week, whatever it is. What does it mean to be a writer? Does it mean that you’re spending time writing? Every day? Do you carve out an hour certain times? What does it mean to be a chef to you, is the things I want you to be thinking about. Because you set the set the intention of, I’m an athlete. And as an athlete, this is what I do. As an author, this is what I do. I do that every day, three times a week, whatever it might be. So what you want to be doing, and then how can you make this happen, because you certainly could be in a place where you’re here and the thing that you want that identity, I’m just going to stick with athlete and author, because those seem to be on my mind. If you’re wanting to be an athlete, and the manifestation of you being an athlete is you do eventually want to be able to compete in triathlon, well, perhaps there’s new learning that needs to happen, maybe you need to learn how to swim, maybe you need to really become a far better cycler than then then then you currently are cycler. cyclist, you get the idea. Or could be running, you need to learn way more, or acquire way more knowledge than you currently have about how to technically be profound a proficient runner, you need to learn all about the nutrition that it’s going to take. And you need to learn about new recovery skills and tactics to be able to actually pull this off. So whatever new learnings you need, whatever other support that you’re going to need, maybe you need to take a course, maybe you need to buy new equipment, maybe you need to join a gym, or some kind of a group that can help you along your way. But really identify this is the stuff that I’m going to need in order to really fully step in, and to make the identity that I have been wanting to have for such a long time to make that a reality. And to bridge that gap between I’m here right now, this is where I want to be. So figure out what those key learnings are? And then really figure out okay, what is the resistance that I’m going to encounter when I said about to do this? Because you’re going to encounter resistance it might come from outside of you and the people that are in your life? Or the majority of it’s probably going to come from inside? So what are the biggest struggles that you’re going to run into when you start to do these things? Because what I don’t want to have happen is for you to say, okay, yeah, this makes sense. It resonates with me that I’ve been putting this off for so long. Now I start to do it, I start to identify as an athlete. But now I run into the same old resistance that I’ve always run into. So this time, what’s going to be different? How am I going to overcome that resistance? So it could be that you’ve already tried to do this? And in those previous attempts, why did they fail? Why? Why did you come up short? And doing the things that you wanted to do? Was it from lack of time? Was it from lack of resources? Why did you come up short? What What were you trying to do? Are you trying to get up a little bit earlier? And that failed? Or are you trying to actually make it into a physical gym? And that didn’t work out? Why didn’t it work? How long have you been wanting to do this? So look back and say, Okay, well, I’ve been wanting to do this for a year, 10 years, 20 years, whatever. So look at that, think about that for how long you’ve been working out to doing it. And then look back and say, okay, of the things you’ve tried to do in the past? Did any of them work? Maybe some of it worked. But some of it didn’t. So be honest. And look back at everything you’ve tried to do along you tried to do it, try to figure out what what worked and what didn’t. And then again, it’s a function of okay. What’s going to be different this time?

Why is the thing that I want? Why will my efforts succeed this time, where I came up short last time, that’s what I want you to do is to be successful at this. I want you to become the person that you want to become it’s my whole thing is I want to help you get better so you can live the life that you want. So identifying this is who I am. This is the thing I’ve been wanting to do for such a long time, but for a variety of reasons. I’ve been unable to do that. Here’s the resources that I need. I’ve positioned myself for success. You This is the reason that I will be successful at this time. Because, again, we only have one crack at this deal, one trip around the track kind of a thing. And life is both way too short and way too long for you to not be doing the things that you want to be doing. So I’m extremely interested in helping you get to where you want to go. So there’s any resources that I can help you to acquire, I’d be thrilled to do that.
