Magda D Singhvi is the founder of craft your mind. They’re an organization guiding people towards emotional and mental well being. Welcome to the show, Magda,

Mugdha Singhvi 0:13
thank you so much for having me. I’m really excited to dive in our conversation and share some insights with your listeners. Yeah,

george grombacher 0:19
I’m excited to have you on tell us a little about your personal lives, more about your work, why you do what you do.

Mugdha Singhvi 0:28
So my personal life, my parents, who are back in India, have been a foundational influence on who I am today, and ideally appreciate their teachings and support throughout my journey. I’m blessed with an amazing life partner who’s incredibly loving and supportive, and together, we have a beautiful daughter who’s 16 months, and she brings so much of joy and meaning to our lives.

george grombacher 0:54
Awesome. 16 months, I’ve got a 15 month old little girl, and she’s a joy as well. So

Mugdha Singhvi 1:02
yes, daughters are joy and blessings. Yes,

george grombacher 1:05
I had, I have two boys, and they’re also joys and blessings, but not quite as sweet. I don’t think I’ve gotten a single hug from either one of those, either one of them, but I get hugs from my daughter every day, so it’s a different experience.

Mugdha Singhvi 1:19
Yes, indeed.

george grombacher 1:22
Well, I’m excited to to get into everything with you. Tell me a little bit more about the work that

Mugdha Singhvi 1:30
you’re doing. So my journey into emotional healing was deeply influenced by my own experiences when I had reckoning challenges in my career and patterns in my relationships. So I realized that if I have emotional reactions to everything, I will always suffer and to understand and address that I started finding solutions of how to overcome these challenges and finding inner peace so this personal growth that sparked a passion to help others navigated my entire journey. So while I was studying for my ca finals, that is Indian CPA in 2012 I was flooded with lot of emotions, a lot of thoughts in between my final exams, and I was like, should I study? Should I look into these? Because it was very confusing where to go, what to do, how to seek help from somebody. And then that led me to explore graphology, which was my first understanding of human brain and emotion connection. And in between my exams, while I was preparing, I took that class because that, that break, that journey, really helped me. And I cleared my exams in that term, and then I became a target accountant, which was, again, a feather in my cap, but I was like, No, I want to pursue integrated therapy, because as I am having these turbulences, I’m sure other people around me are also having these emotional insights, or they are not able to understand what’s going on with them and how everything is connected to each other, was a beautiful experience for me. So I established craft your mind in 2015 and I had my own institute where I was working with diverse age groups, helping individuals to uncover the root cause of the issues. So

george grombacher 3:43
yes, I appreciate that. So I was just thinking earlier today. I was thinking about how we do I do so many things I do because the way that I feel, but I also know that it’s it’s good to feel feelings, but it’s also good to act based on my logic and my reasoning and how that’s not an easy thing to do.

Mugdha Singhvi 4:09
Yeah. So we have two parts in our brain, right, right and left. One is logical, one is creative. So the more we think logically, or we do mechanically. Okay, it just becomes a pattern, or it becomes a habit. But when we need to break that habit, or we need to restore something, we have to start using our creative brain, our right brain, and where the emotions come into place. So in order to change anything that has become logical or something that is not working for you, you need to go to the root, change your belief system, change your actions and your choices.

george grombacher 4:55
It seems like a Why is that so hard? I.

Mugdha Singhvi 5:01
Um, okay, so when you learn driving initially, when you’re driving, how do you drive? Really, well, scared. You’re a little scared. Or will I be driving straight to my destination, or not? You’re very careful. You look left, right, you give your proper signals and everything. But down the line when it’s two, three years you are you can just drive while doing 10 other things as well. So that has become your habit. That has become something which is automatic for you now. So if you just have in mind, okay, I have to reach my office. I need to reach my child’s school, college or whatever. So even while thinking or doing 10 other things, you will reach your destination safely. So that is what happens when you become automatic on something, but to learn or to unlearn something initially, it takes a lot of efforts, because it’s changing your perceptions. It’s, you know, triggering a lot of emotions that might have been around it or saved and you were not really aware of it. So addressing them, opening your wounds and healing them is difficult. That’s why that journey is called a journey to healing.

george grombacher 6:24
So how do I know if there’s a problem?

Mugdha Singhvi 6:29
Good question. You know there is a problem when you are in the same cycle, same pattern of something, you are unable to get out or get solutions to certain things which you really want to change. You really accept, okay, that’s my destiny of weight somewhere you’re not manifesting what you want to manifest, and you’re circling around certain things in your life that is an indication where you really need to start. The second one is when you have some illness or you are storing in a lot of baggage in your life, that’s when you know, Okay, it’s time to release and then replenish yourself.

george grombacher 7:21
So I’m just not getting the life that I want. Things aren’t going my way. I don’t feel good. I feel like I’m it’s a slog. I’m struggling. Life is not not good, it’s hard, it’s painful. So say, Okay, there’s something going on here. I need to start addressing these issues. How do I, what is, what is, for lack of a better term, the work. How do I? How do I start exploring or looking around?

Mugdha Singhvi 7:49
The first thing is taking responsibility of oneself, making that choice. Okay? I want to change being in that awareness, and once you decide, okay, this is my life, but I need to change. I want to go somewhere else. That’s the first step anybody can take. And you start today. And once you have taken that decision, once you have taken your responsibility, the second stage is how you feel and how you treat yourself internally is mirrored externally in your external experiences with the people around you, with the patterns that are repeating. So changing your self talk, that is the second one, and the third one is journaling. So these three things are the basic things that I would recommend anybody, and once you are there, then it’s a cakewalk to change your journey, to change your choices and make your life better.

george grombacher 8:52
So I accept responsibility for for my life, for the way that I’m thinking and feeling about things, and make the decision that I’m going to start doing this now, today. Yes, and then it’s step number two is being really aware of how it is that I’m treating myself and talking to myself, because I think that probably we’re really, really, really hard on ourselves more often than probably anybody else. And then it’s, it’s, it’s, it’s writing, which I think about, thinking about what I’m thinking about, that’s really my process of journaling. Yes,

Mugdha Singhvi 9:31
so journaling is basically, you know, when you’re writing down everything, you’re not overthinking that once it’s on the paper, your thoughts end, and that’s when you realize, okay, whatever I’m thinking may not be true for me or may not be my reality, so why waste time on that? So writing is a very important habit a person can fit in their regular schedule because you can release. You can. Journal, you can manifest every three everything through writing, basically. So journaling is indeed the best.

george grombacher 10:10
It’s interesting that it’s so much more powerful than simply speaking. Yes,

Mugdha Singhvi 10:16
it is, because when you speak, you might just connect 10 other things in that journey, and you forget your destination. But when you write, you know what you want, you know where you want to go to, it’s very specific, and it can shift your focus from what is lacking or what is negative into what is positive, and it enhances your overall happiness and perspective in life.

george grombacher 10:45
Do I need to use a writing instrument and a piece of paper, a pencil or a pen and paper? Or can I do it on a keyboard? Does that matter?

Mugdha Singhvi 10:54
The best way to journal is a pen and a paper, any pen, any paper, works, but write it down, not type it. Your index finger and your thumb specifically are connected to your brain when so when you write down something, it directs your brain to that direction, and that is how your brain knows what you are doing. It’s in the present.

george grombacher 11:23
Interesting so is the idea that I sit down in a quiet place where I have some time with my pen and paper and I’m thinking about what I’m thinking about, and I just let it be written out that my subconscious or my conscious is going to be directing me to where it ought to be focused, to where these problems are.

Mugdha Singhvi 11:52
So you can journal wherever you are sitting. If it’s a quiet place, it’s better so that you’re focused initially when you’re journaling, you’re just writing your thoughts to understand what are you thinking about yourself and other people. And once you have understood that, then you can channelize it into either releasing it. So releasing means that you’re not accumulating anything which you don’t need inside of you, and manifestation means that you want to refill yourself with the choice of life that you want. So that is the second step of journaling.

george grombacher 12:30
Say the last part again the second step of journaling,

Mugdha Singhvi 12:33
the second step of journaling, is releasing whatever you do not need in your life, letting go of negative emotions, thoughts, experiences, people, rather than holding on to it. And manifestation is choosing the life of your choice. So you can think of it as a cup where you have some water and you are either spilling that water out, or you are filling that cup with fresh water in such a manner that the old is deleted and you just have fresh water in that cup. I

george grombacher 13:15
think that that’s excellent. So releasing and letting go. Yes, are there common we all have our own unique lived experience. Are there common challenges that many of us face? What are some of the things you see over and over again?

Mugdha Singhvi 13:33
Some of the recurring challenges that I have seen in people are money matters. I want to earn so much I’m not able to. I want to marry such and such person, but I’m not able to. Everybody around me is blaming me or is not helping me succeed. That is basically blaming other people for not able to achieve your life targets and a very simple one is feeling irritated when people don’t do as you say. It’s a very common thing in a lot of people around us,

george grombacher 14:15
and so when I’m feeling that way, when I’m feeling like I’m a victim. Nobody’s listening to me not getting what I want. It’s everybody else’s fault, except for mine. I sit down and I start writing about that. Yes,

Mugdha Singhvi 14:31
you do. You start writing about it, of how you are feeling, how somebody made you feel. What are the things that is continuously bothering you at that moment, and then you reread that after writing it. And once you’re doing that, you yourself will be in a shock that, oh, this is what I’m really thinking. And that’s when you make a choice that, okay, no, this is not what I want. So.

george grombacher 15:01
Uh, so it’s sitting down with the intention of of putting onto the page what I’m feeling. And once I’ve done that, then I can allow the rational side of my brain to say, George, what are you doing? This is it’s not your mom’s fault, it’s not your grandfather’s fault. It’s not your neighbor’s fault. You’re the one who’s not doing this or who is who is doing this stuff, and you’re the one who’s responsible,

Mugdha Singhvi 15:28
correct? Yes.

george grombacher 15:32
And then it’s that’s not what I want anymore. This is not this is no longer what I want. What I want is whatever it is that I choose to then put in its place,

Mugdha Singhvi 15:43
correct? Yes. And to reach to that goal, we really have to change our perspectives. We have to change the actions that we are taking, and we need to make different choices. So initially, it’s very difficult to, you know, accept that, okay, I’m responsible for my life. So you say, I choose to take responsibility of my life. It’s very difficult to let go of old regrets, old times where you have been hurt by other people, you know, some guilt or something which has been impacting you. So you say, I choose to release everything that does not work for me anymore. I imagine how you start making choices.

george grombacher 16:33
So I’m operating automatically, even though it’s not what I want. I’m doing what I’ve always done, and I’m getting what I’ve always gotten. And so I make the decision, I take ownership. I’m so this is going to start today. I’m going to start talking to myself in a more charitable way, nicer way, and then I’m going to start writing down what it is that I’m feeling, recognize that it’s not what I want, releasing and letting go. And then I’m going to start acting in a manner that’s going To get me closer to what I want.

Hey, zoom just kicked me right out. Not very nice.

Mugdha Singhvi 17:28
It’s because of Mercury Retrograde that’s going on. So

george grombacher 17:33
that is what we will go with. All right, so I don’t know We’ll, I’ll obviously edit this. I don’t know when I cut off, was it when I was asking my question, or did Yes, yes, okay, yeah. So if you just want to pick it up, that’s fine.

Mugdha Singhvi 17:48
I know you can just ask me the question. We can start again from there. Yes, okay, great.

george grombacher 17:54
So going back to that process, I’ve accepted responsibility. I’ve decided that I’m interested in getting started, and I’m going to start acting the way that I want to now. I start treating myself better in the way that I’m self talk. My self talk, I start writing down the way that I’m feeling, the way that I’m thinking. I decided I’m going to release it and let it go, and then I start acting in service of that. Do some people experience immediate change? To other people? Does it take them years?

Mugdha Singhvi 18:25
So that’s a very good question that you’ve asked. So once you start your journey of healing or maybe being aware of something, you would find it difficult initially, to actually cross that comfort zone that you have been for a very long time, so you have to keep on taking efforts consciously. Okay, today I’m feeling this way, but that’s okay. It’s just a feeling. It’s not my reality. Or I’m having multiple number of negative thoughts, cancel and delete those thoughts. It’s okay. I can think whatever it is, but that’s not my reality. So you really have to convince yourself with different actions, and, you know, self soothing words initially. But if you really follow certain guidelines that have been given to you, or certain practices that you are doing, certain tools and techniques that you are using, then I would say you would start seeing a change within 15 to 20 days of your life. You will feel more relaxed. You will feel calmer. I will not say that you will have a magical, you know, shift completely, but you know that, yeah, you have started a journey. And then you’ll be very excited, and you’ll just start exploring different avenues of how to grow and learn and learn, because that’s, again, a important process where you unlearn and learn new things in life.

george grombacher 19:53
That makes a lot of sense, and it really reinforces the importance of a positive self talk. Because very rarely, I’m sure, do we see immediate results, and within 15 and 20 days, if I’m consistently giving myself grace to say, Okay, we’re going to keep keep working through this, keep working through this, you’re going to see progress. And so it makes sense why you need to be focused on that.

Mugdha Singhvi 20:19
Yes,

george grombacher 20:23
fair to say, or to think about feelings as evidence that there’s still more work to be done.

Mugdha Singhvi 20:32
Okay, so I’ll explain in this manner the trauma, the hurt, the pain, the wounds that we have been carrying. It’s coming from a lot of ancient times, from our tribes, when we were living in tribes. So healing is never complete. It’s just that you are healing your wounds. You are manifesting a different level of your life. And then there are new triggers that there are new things that come up, and you work again. By the time you reach that level, you’re already in an experience zone where you know how to take care of yourself, so you will not melt down easily, you know? Okay, this is how I can collect myself and move ahead. So healing and manifesting is a part of your life which will keep on going. So there’ll be phases where, you know, it will be very calm and quiet and everything, and suddenly, one day, you’ll be like, You know what? This is impacting me. So that’s something that comes up. It’s the new level where you are going. It’s just like level of games. So if you treat your life like a game that, okay, this is the level I am crossing it to the next. It’s just a recurring process

george grombacher 21:45
which makes sense. Our lives change. Your life was very different. You know, 1516 months ago, that is today. I’m confident it’ll be very different. 15 and 16 months from today, as mine will be as well, so that we need to continue on this path and this journey of healing. Yes, it’s very reasonable. So

Mugdha Singhvi 22:07
yes, because change is constant, and if you don’t change, you’re becoming stagnant. And if you’re stagnant, that means there is no life. Life means growth. Change you

george grombacher 22:23
it’d be a river, not a swamp, correct? Yes, yeah. Love it. Well. Magda, thank you so much for coming on. Where can people learn more about you? How can they engage with you?

george grombacher 16:00
So if I want my iPhone, and my Tesla and my Bitcoin to work, we need to get the metal out of the ground.

Pierre Leveille 16:07
Absolutely. Without it, we cannot do it.

george grombacher 16:13
Why? Why is there a Why has production been going down.

Pierre Leveille 16:21
Because the large mines that are producing most of the copper in the world, the grades are going down slowly they’re going there, they’re arriving near the end of life. So and of life of mines in general means less production. And in the past, at least 15 years, the exploration expenditure for copper were pretty low, because the price of copper was low. And when the price is low, companies are tending to not invest more so much in exploration, which is what we see today. It’s it’s, it’s not the way to look at it. Because nobody 15 years ago was able to predict that there would be a so massive shortage, or it’s so massive demand coming. But in the past five years, or let’s say since the since 10 years, we have seen that more and more coming. And then the by the time you react start exploring and there’s more money than then ever that is putting in put it in expression at the moment for copper at least. And what we see is that the it takes time, it could take up to 2025 years between the time you find a deposit that it gets in production. So but but the year the time is counted. So it’s it’s very important to so you will see company reopening old mines, what it will push also, which is not bad, it will force to two, it will force to find a it will force to find ways of recalibrating customer, you know the metals, that will be more and more important.

george grombacher 18:07
So finding, okay, so for lack of a better term recycling metals that are just sitting around somewhere extremely important. Yeah. And then going and going back to historic minds that maybe for lack of technology, or just lack of will or reasons, but maybe now because there’s such a demand, there’s an appetite to go back to those.

Pierre Leveille 18:33
Yes, but there will be a lot of failures into that for many reasons. But the ones that will be in that will resume mining it’s just going to be a short term temporary solution. No it’s it’s not going to be you need to find deposit that will that will operate 50 years you know at least it’s 25 to 50 years at least and an old mind that you do in production in general it’s less than 10 years.

george grombacher 19:03
Got it. Oh there we go. Up here. People are ready for your difference making tip What do you have for them

Pierre Leveille 19:14
You mean an investment or

george grombacher 19:17
whatever you’re into, you’ve got so much life experience with raising a family and doing business all over the world and having your kids go to school in Africa so a tip on copper or whatever you’re into.

Pierre Leveille 19:34
But there’s two things I like to see and I was telling my children many times and I always said you know don’t focus on what will bring you specifically money don’t think of Getting Rich. Think of doing what you what you like, what you feel your your your your your, you know you have been born to do so use your most you skills, do what you like, do what you wet well, and good things will happen to you. And I can see them grow in their life. And I can tell you that this is what happens. And sometimes you have setback like I had recently. But if we do things properly, if we do things that we like, and we liked that project, we were very passionate about that project, not only me, all my team, and if we do things properly, if we do things correctly, good things will happen. And we will probably get the project back had to go forward or we will find another big project that will be the launch of a new era. So that’s my most important tip in life. Do what you like, do it with your best scale and do it well and good things will happen.

george grombacher 20:49
Pierre Leveille 21:03
Thank you. I was happy to be with you to today.

george grombacher 21:06
Damn, tell us the websites and where where people can connect and find you.

Pierre Leveille 21:13
The it’s Deep South resources.com. So pretty simple.

george grombacher 21:18
